Hi to everybody, thanks to those hardcore fans who keep on following us and take a look at the site from time. Carrying on with this label is quite hard, especially supporting the kind of music we support. It’s a huge labour of love. It’s a job I can do during my free time. But I keep on keeping on. I try to follow my vision and release just what I think can fit this label. Many critics from Jazz and Rock are following us with interest and try to give us their best support. I have my own idea about the music I like and move on. What do we have coming after the summer? Many new projects: the main and most important one (a HUGE production!) is an amazing octet work (“Rings of Fire”) by Daniele Cavallanti (saxophone) & Tiziano Tononi (drums and percussion), featuring violin star Jenny Scheinman and other amazing Italian players (details coming soon). And then we lately recorded three almost purely improvised sessions, featuring some of the best players from the Italian rock/avant/jazz scene (Craig David was the special guest in one of these) . Also: we are releasing at the beginning of September the new fabulous work by Craig Green and David King (see details in the “upcoming” section) and the surprising Nicola Cipani (always “upcoming section”). Two disc we are absolutely proud of. And beyond all this………Is there still a reason to release a cd? shops are closing…or the traditional ones are going to resist while the big ones close? is it better to release vynil? and download? let’s go digital?? it’s so HARD to find and get some exposure for this music! Still, I resist. Actually I do it for the love of music. Too strong! In any case the debate is open for the future about how to release stuff. “Rings of Fire”, “Craig+David” and “The Ill-Tempered piano” will be released on cd….and the improvised projects…..don’t know. Let us have your opinion, every suggestion or idea is very welcome. We’ll talk soon again. Ciao. Ah. also the new “Sketches of Impro will be finally on line soon.

Caro Fabrizio, seguo la tua etichetta dalla sua nascita e devo dire che non esiste in Italia niente del genere: Hai coraggio, coerenza, idee chiare sui tuoi gusti e sulle direzioni da prendere, ed è cosa rara. Per questo motivo è naturale che trovino spazio nella tua etichetta personaggi immensi come Daniele e Tiziano (e tanti altri) che hanno fatto della coerenza artistica la loro bandiera e per fortuna conservano grandi riserve di creatività e intelligenza. Oggi ormai vediamo riproporre in continuazione e in tutte le salse l’hard bop degli anni ’50 come se fosse solo quello l’unico jazz, per non parlare poi delle “riesumazioni” di morti viventi della canzone italiana o rifacimenti tristissimi in chiave jazzistica di qualunque cosa. La tua etichetta, i musicisti che coinvolgi e la musica che proponi rappresentano insieme “un’isola felice” di creatività, di stimoli intelligenti, di aria fresca e nuova, sia per chi fa questa musica che per chi la ascolta. Per favore, continua come già stai facendo con passione e non piegarti mai.
Per quanto riguarda il mezzo su cui distribuire la musica, posso dirti che come tanti scarico mp3 in quantità industriali, ma alla fine compro sempre i CD originali delle cose che mi piacciono. Credo che il piacere di avere tra le mani un CD vero e originale (che non hai mai il fascino di un vinile, ma ci si può accontentare) non potrà mai essere superato da un mp3 scaricato o acquistato sul web e ascoltato sul PC di casa o sul’iPod. Quindi mi sento di dirti che le nuove strade digitali possono essere percose, anzi forse DEVONO. Ma per quanto mi riguarda (e non penso di essere il solo) continuerò a cercare musica su CD e non smetterò mai di riempirmi la casa di scaffali…!
